For most of us, the monsoon is definitely our favorite time of the year. For dog parents, though, the rains can bring a few woes. Here we have 6 do's and don'ts that dog parents need to take heed of in order to make each monsoon an amazing one!
1) Regular Tick and Flea Check
Regularly check your dog's fur and coat for fleas and ticks, and get a de-tick solution for your pet. Although this isn't exclusively a monsoon tip, taking care of this gets more important in the monsoons than ever.
2) Dry And Clean Paws
It's a common sight to find dogs developing fungal infections or bruises on their paws in the monsoons. Your furball's paws are more sensitive than they appear to be. Keep them dry and clean to save your furball from monsoon fungal infections.
3) Pre-book a Vet Session
Make sure to schedule your dog's vaccination and deworming sessions before the onset of the monsoon. Rains are notoriously known for stalling events and day-to-day scheduled tasks. Why wait for something uncertain to stall your pet's vaccinations or grooming appointments?

4) Bye, Bye Wet Shampoo
Letting your furball dry naturally after each bath is the best way to go. However, in the monsoons, this can get a little tricky. Thus, switching to dry shampoo can do away with fuzzy, wet baths and at the same time clean up your furball.
DON'TS:
1) DON'T Try To Be A Vet When You Are Not
NEVER use any medication on your dog without proper consultation from the vet. Medications suitable for humans don't always work on animals. Even single paracetamol can cause more harm than good. The best thing to do would be to visit your vet.
2) Use Animal Products ONLY
NEVER use any cleaning, grooming, or antiseptic product on your furball that is not meant for his kind. Using shampoos meant for humans will only end up harming your dog's coat
and fur. It might lead to unnatural shedding and dryness, and would also cause furball irritation. Use products exclusively meant for dogs.

Make sure you keep these in mind, and I'm sure this monsoon's going to be a fun ride!
