Being a parent to a small pet is never easy. As simple it may look, these small babies have their own complexities and details which you can’t overlook as a parent. Some such points to remember are- Tips for Small Pet Parents

Guinea Pigs

Buy at least two guinea pigs so they are not forlorn. Guinea pigs need a companion since they are not lone wolves. Ensure that they are related, else they will likely battle. Remember that male and female will mate. Invest some energy with your pets each day. Keeping a friendly creature alone can lead it to wind up discouraged. Therefore, every blog you’ll read will say the same thing, buy these creatures in pairs. Tips for Small Pet Parents

Feed your guinea pigs crisp vegetables every day. Green vegetables should make up about 20% of your guinea pigs' eating routine. Be cautious about vegetables that contain a ton of phosphorous, calcium and Vitamin A as such a large number of these can cause stomach upsets and loose motions, which can be dangerous.

Rabbits

Rabbits are not low-budget creatures. They require a similar measure of time, cash, and care as mutts and felines. They require as much exercise as a puppy, and a litter plate. In addition they need your attention every day. Tips for Small Pet Parents

Spend enough time with your rabbit. Rabbits need company and love from you, especially if he is your only pet. You should spend at least three hours a day with your rabbit outside of his cage, but he may like more time inside the cage as well.

Hamsters

Training a hamster calls for time and patience. Don't rush through. Make out time to get to know your hamster and respond to his/her action. The key here is to earn your hamster's trust so it can learn that there is no reason to be afraid of you. Spend quality time around your hamster's cage and quietly talk to the pet to get him/her used to your voice. Tips for Small Pet Parents

If the pet hamster bites you while you are handling him, he didn't mean to hurt you. These hamsters just feel threatened. Do not overact by yelling or being harsh towards the hamster. Stay calm and constant.
