Before getting/adopting any dog you must be aware of what climate they are suitable for, we sure can see Huskies in India but the climate of India is not suitable for a Husky, people are adopting them to fulfill their wishes which do come with a lot of responsibility, especially during Summers as summers of India are generally harsh in almost every region. Before looking for a furry companion you should know about the breed and the climate of the region you live in.

Labrador Retriever
Labrador is one of the most popular breeds in India. They can grow up to 32 inches and can weigh around 24 to 32 kgs. They are mostly found in golden, black, beige, light brown, dark brown, beige, and cream colors. Labrador is the perfect breed for families as they are super friendly, they are very playful. Labradors are suitable for the climate of India as they have a soft, silky undercoat that keeps them warm and dry in cold weather and an outer hard fur that helps in repelling water.
Pug
The Pug is the most popular breed of dog and is known for being sociable and gentle. Pug is a super funny and friendly dog. They are small in size and silent in nature. What makes these puppies stand out among the rest are these little wrinkly faces and bulging dark eyes. Their diet and exercise must be monitored. They are perfect for a small home or apartment as they are small and do not require a large place to live.
Doberman
A normal Doberman weighs around 35–40 Kgs and they grow up to 1.8 - 2.5 feet depending upon the diet and exercise. They are sleek and slender and they have immense stamina and can run rapidly. A Doberman’s loyalty can be seen to the core with their protective behavior towards pet parents. Grooming them is easy and pocket-friendly. Just brush once a week and everything is fine. It keeps them clean. Doberman does not have very thick or very thin skin, which makes this breed suitable for India.
German Shepherd
A normal German Shepherd can grow up to 22-24 inches and its lifespan is around 12 years. German Shepherds are also known as Alsatians. They are mostly considered guard dogs as they have impressive personalities and with little training prove to be quite useful to police. Their coat requires regular grooming, This breed is widely seen in India and it is suitable for India’s climate.
Dachshund
There are three kinds of Dachshund, the Shorthaired; the wire-haired; and the long-haired. And it has two sizes- standard and miniature. They have a short height and long stretched body and have a lifespan of 12–15 years and are found in red, black, brown, chocolate, and tan colors. They are funny, playful, intelligent, active, and affectionate dogs requiring less food and exercise. They are ideal for smaller homes because of their small size.
Pomeranian
Indian Spitz or Pomeranian is one of the well-known and popular breeds in India, they grow up to 8-11 inches and the maximum weight they can have varies from 3 kgs to 7 kgs. They are friendly and gel up easily with new people and animals, they enjoy the company of children very much. They have a quite good lifespan, they can live up to 16 years. They need special care and require regular brushing and grooming. They are active by nature so they do not require a lot of exercises.
